Overall a good experience the food tasted well but it's just frustrating when they bring you a dessert menu and three of the five things are unavailable or out. We will definitely go back. And perhaps reminding servers to not let everyone's drinks on the tables get empty....
Our server Cade was the best server my husband and I have had since relocating to the south! You will NOT be disappointed coming here for an evening out! My husband had the ribeye which totally beats any franchise steak house restaurant out of the park! I had the Country fried steak which was to die for! For dessert we had the pecan bread pudding which was the absolute BEST! We will definitely be back very soon!
First thing first, my waitress Savannah.....A1. She’s so kind and helpful. Recommendations are great from her The food here is amazing. My wife had the Southern Fried Chicken with green beans, mashed potatoes and a side of collard greens. I had the Ribeye with a loaded baked potato and a side of Mac and cheese. This is the first restaurant I’ve been to where the Mac and cheese is actually good. The steak is great. I recommend getting it with the horseradish spread over the herb butter. As far as drinks, I recommend the regular old fashioned or the southern gentleman. Both are great drinks. We will be coming back here again.
The food was amazing service was great. If you’re seated in Savannah’s section consider yourself extremely lucky! She is the best. Also if you have a run in with Adam just know he’s the nicest guy ever. Love the service love the food ya’ll are the best!!!
Fantastic food, amazing burger, and salad! The service was excellent and attentive. We waited for a table for about 10 minutes. The upper deck was open, but we never made it up there.
A great afternoon lunch. Webster was our server and he was a lot of fun to talk with. The restaurant was relaxing and the food was great. We shared a crab cake to start - lots of crab nicely seasoned. I had the lunch special which was a Sloppy Joe. It was delicious , better than I remember growing up! My wife said the Ultimate Burger was delicious. A nice place to relax and enjoy good food and service!
Wow! Honestly the food is fantastic and the staff alone will make you want to come back every time you think of food. The oysters, the cheesecake, the shrimp and grits just the crazy jokes makes it a wonderful place. I really like to keep for myself, but I’m gonna be nice and let you know it’s all here at the 1885 right smack in the middle who would’ve thought.! Les, the Assistant Manager and Webster the server will make you feel at home. We got back in town from international travel and all I can think of was going to 1885 what a great place.!
We booked a party of 14 for a KSU grad celebration dinner and the staff executed flawlessly. They had several other celebrations going on at the same time and still manage to keep the service level high. It's a great place to celebrate and the food was delicious. Really impressive!
